About

We got tired of watching good businesses lose customers to a voicemail beep.

Every business we talked to had the same hole in the same place: the hours nobody could staff. Not a strategy problem, not a marketing problem — a phone ringing at 19:40 with nobody to pick it up.

The start

It started as a spreadsheet of missed calls

We went through three months of call logs with a dozen small businesses — clinics, trades, clubs, a car rental firm. We were looking for a pattern and found an obvious one: most of the lost revenue happened in the three hours after close, and almost nobody left a voicemail. They just called the next business.

The available fixes were all bad. A phone menu makes the caller do the routing. A chatbot answers one question and drops the other two. Hiring works and costs a salary, and still does not cover Sunday.

So we built the thing we wanted: one assistant that picks up everywhere, knows your prices and your hours because you typed them in plain words, finishes the ordinary conversations, and brings you only what you asked to see.

What we believe

Four opinions we build against

These are the ones that change what gets shipped, not the ones that look good on a wall.

A refusal beats a guess

An agent that invents an answer creates a commitment you have to honour or retract. Joe says when he does not know, and hands it over.

Coverage should not cost headcount

The hours you cannot staff are the hours you lose customers. Decoupling the two is the whole product.

Setup should be typing, not drawing

If you can explain your business to a new employee, that is the interface. No flowcharts, no keyword trees.

The name

Why "Joe"?

Because the thing businesses actually wanted was not "an AI platform". It was a reliable colleague who answers the phone, knows the prices, and does not need managing. Naming him made the product decisions easier: every time we were unsure, we asked what a good employee would do.

He does not pretend to be human. He just does the job like someone who has been there a while.

Joe's ready. Are you?

Hire him this afternoon. He answers the first call tonight.
